Naturally Safe and Effective
in
Controlling Cholesterol and Dietary Fat
At
last there is a unique product called Beta-S which when taken correctly
NATURALLY AIDS IN THE LOWERING CHOLESTEROL LEVELS AND DIETARY FATS.
Beta-S is safe and easy to use. Simply ingest one tablet 30 minutes
before a meal or snack with a full glass of water. This allows Beta-S
to disperse in the stomach and reach the fat receptors well before
food, inhibiting the body's intake of cholesterol and dietary fats.
To achieve real results from Beta-S, it is not necessary to radically
change eating habits, however, when combined with nutritious healthy
foods, the results are astonishing.
BETA-S
- How Does It Work?
Beta-S is comprised of 2 food substances,
300 mg of Beta-Sitosterol and 30mg of Citrus Pectin. These 2 substances
are known "lowering cholesterol" agents that, when combined
together, alter dietary fat and cholesterol absorption. There are
also recent studies showing positive effects of Beta-Sitosterol in
assisting with healthy prostate function. A healthy diet supplemented
with Beta-Sitosterol may inhibit the conversion of testosterone to
dihydrotestosterone-the main cause of prostate enlargement.
There is a new
choice
besides prescription drugs-
Beta-s
The greatest dangers to your health
are directly related to your eating habits. People eat for taste and
convenience, not for health and nutrition, and because of this we
are contributing to the greatest health problem facing our society
today…heart disease! Risks of developing arteriosclerosis and
coronary heart disease are in direct relationship to the amounts of
cholesterol and dietary fats within the body as well as excessive
personal weight. The higher these levels, the greater the risk of
heart disease and heart attacks. Until recently, the only process
doctors found to be truly effective in controlling these problems
were prescription drugs which could cause serious side effects. Today
there is a new choice -a naturally safe and naturally effective choice.
Today, there is Beta-S!
There
is no product on the market
similar to Beta-S.
Beta-S is taken thirty
minutes before meal or snack time because it takes thirty minutes
to break down in the stomach, travel to the intestinal tract and blanket
the fat receptors.
The proposed mechanisms
of action are:
- Intestinal binding excretion of free
cholesterol
- Blocking of absorption sites in the
intestinal walls
- An enzymatic shift decreasing liver
cholesterol production
- Increased liver enzyme functions
on the breakdown of fat
- Guaranteed Potency - like all of
the "PURECHOICE" products
- Made to preset specifications that
guarantee its quality through the expiration date
- ENTERIC (INTESTINALLY) COATED for
maximum absorption
- Natural product with the highest
quality ingredients
- High manufacturing standards
- Condition specific formula backed
by sound science and research
Controlling body weight and lowering
cholesterol levels are keys to a healthy cardiovascular system. Therefore
a consistent health plan to control body weight and cholesterol levels
is needed. Beta-sitosterol with citrus pectin can lower cholesterol
absorption in the intestine and lower cholesterol production in the
liver. This should lead to lower circulating bad cholesterol levels
in the blood. Taking beta-sitosterol with citrus pectin before meals
is an excellent strategy in any plan to help maintain healthy cholesterol
naturally!
Beta-S has a ninety-minute
peak performance work cycle in the intestine. Thirty minutes to reach
the fat receptors, plus ninety minutes of active performance time.
Three times the time required to allow dietary fat to pass the receptor
area. This is an important fact because: an individual can
eat a full meal, enjoy a desert later, and still benefit from Beta-S
An Integrated Blend
of Scientifically Based
Natural Ingredients To
Lower Cholesterol
Beta-S contains a unique
combination of natural ingredients that are highly effective in inhibiting
the body's ability to absorb dietary fat and cholesterol. The following
ingredients are found in each tablet of Beta-S: Beta-Sitosterol, Citrus
Pectin and excipients that allow Beta-S to dissolve in a unique fashion.
Beta-S trade marked process combines these ingredients in a totally
unique compound. When included in the diet, Beta-S reduces the body's
intake of harmfully dietary fat and cholesterol by properly being
dispersed into the GI tract before meals.
High Cholesterol: What
It Means
Anyone can develop high
blood cholesterol regardless of age, sex, race or ethnic background.
Like high blood pressure, it is a potential threat to your health
that you can do something about. High cholesterol
is one of the major risk factors for coronary heart disease and being
overweight also contributes significantly to this problem.
High blood cholesterol occurs when there is to much cholesterol in
your blood. Your cholesterol level is determined partly by your genetic
makeup and the saturated fat and cholesterol in the foods you eat.
Even if you did not eat any cholesterol, your body would manufacture
enough for its needs.
How High Does Your
Cholesterol Level
Have To Be To Affect Your Health?
The risk of developing
coronary heart disease increases as your blood cholesterol rises.
This is why it is so important that you have your cholesterol level
measured. Currently, more than half of all adult Americans have cholesterol
levels of 200 mg/dl or greater, which places them at an increasing
risk for coronary heart disease. A very large percentage of the adult
population 20 years of age or older has blood cholesterol levels that
are considered high, that is, 240 mg/dl or greater. A blood cholesterol
level of 240 mg/dl or greater is considered high. But any level above
200 mg/dl, even in the "borderline-high" category increases your risk
for heart disease. If your blood cholesterol
is 240 mg/dl or greater, you have more than twice the risk of someone
whose cholesterol is 200 mg/dl.
How Does High Cholesterol
Lead
To Coronary Heart Disease?
Most
coronary heart disease is caused by atherosclerosis, which occurs
when cholesterol, fat, and other substances build up in the walls
of the arteries that supply blood to the heart.
These deposits narrow the arteries and can slow or block the flow
of blood. Among many things, blood carries a constant supply of oxygen
to the heart. Without oxygen, heart muscles weaken, resulting in chest
pain (angina), a heart attack (myocardial infarction), or even death.
Atherosclerosis is a slow progressive disease that may start very
early in life yet may not produce symptoms for many years.
What Will Lowering
Cholesterol
Do For You?
Lowering your high blood
cholesterol level will slow fatty build up in the walls of the arteries
and reduce your risk of a heart attack and death caused by heart attack.
In fact, some studies have shown that in adults with high cholesterol
levels, for each one percent reduction in total cholesterol levels,
there is a two percent reduction in the number of heart attacks. In
other words, if you reduce your cholesterol level 15 percent, your
risk of coronary heart disease could drop by 30 percent.
What Foods Contain
Fat And Cholesterol?
Saturated fats are found
primarily in animal products, particularly fatty meats and many dairy
products. Coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and palm oil are also very
saturated. Some of the unsaturated fats in vegetable oils are also
made more saturated by a process called hydrogenation. Commercially
prepared and processed foods made with the vegetable oils or with
saturated fats like butter and lard can also be high in saturated
fat. There are two kinds of unsaturated fat: polyunsaturated and monounsaturated.
You should substitute both of these for saturated fat in your diet.
Polyunsaturated fats are found primarily in plant products including
safflower, sunflower, corn, soybean, and cottonseed oils; nuts; seeds;
and in fatty fish. Major vegetable oil sources of monounsaturated
fats are primarily olive and canola oil. Cholesterol is found only
in foods of animal origin, both high fat foods (like hot dogs and
cheddar cheese) and low fat foods (like liver and other organ meats).
And the amount of cholesterol in these foods varies. A daily intake
of less than 300 mg is recommended. A three-ounce piece of meat, fish,
or poultry has 60 to 90 mg of cholesterol; one egg yolk contains about
270 mg; and a three-ounce serving of liver has about 390 mg of cholesterol.
In the United States blood cholesterol levels in men and women start
to rise at about the age of 20. Women's blood cholesterol levels prior
to menopause (45 -60 years) are lower than those of men of the same
age. After menopause, however, the cholesterol of women usually increases
to a level higher than men. Since the risk of coronary heart disease
is especially high in the later decades of life, reducing blood cholesterol
levels may be important to the elderly.
Dietary Cholesterol,
Dietary Fat,
and Being Overweight
Influence Your Blood Cholesterol Level
Among the factors you can
do something about, diet has the largest effect on your blood cholesterol
level. Saturated fat raises your blood cholesterol level more than
anything else you eat. Dietary cholesterol also increases your blood
cholesterol level. If you have high blood cholesterol, inhibiting
the intake of dietary fat and cholesterol into your system will be
a very important step to take. Being overweight may also increase
your blood cholesterol level. Most overweight patients with high levels
of cholesterol can help control their cholesterol levels by weight
reduction.
Is There "Good And
Bad"
Blood Cholesterol?
Cholesterol is an odorless
soft waxy substance. Your body needs cholesterol to function normally
(for an example; as a component of cell membranes and for the production
of many hormones, Vitamin D, and bile acids, which are important for
the absorption of fat). Cholesterol is present in all parts of the
body, including the brain and nervous system, muscle, skin liver and
intestines, heart, skeleton, etc.
Your blood cholesterol
level is affected not only by the saturated fat and cholesterol in
your diet, but also by the cholesterol your body produces. As a matter
of fact, your body produces all the cholesterol it needs, and the
saturated fat and cholesterol in your diet only serve to increase
your blood cholesterol levels.
Cholesterol travels in
blood packages called lipoproteins. All lipoproteins are formed in
the liver and carry cholesterol through out the body.
Blood cholesterol packaged
in low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) is transported from the liver to
other parts of the body where it can be used. LDLs carry most of the
cholesterol in the blood, and if not removed from the blood, cholesterol
and fat can build up in the arteries contributing to arteriosclerosis.
This is why LDL cholesterol is often called "bad cholesterol".
Cholesterol is also packaged
in a high density Lipoproteins (HDLs). HDLs carry cholesterol back
to the liver for processing or removal from the body. HDLs, therefore,
help remove cholesterol from the blood, preventing the accumulation
of cholesterol in the walls of the arteries. Thus they are often referred
to as "good cholesterol".
LDL and HDL levels provide
information on your risk of developing coronary heart disease. A high
LDL cholesterol level or a low HDL cholesterol level puts you at increased
risk. LDL and HDL cholesterol levels more accurately predict your
risk for coronary heart disease than a total cholesterol level alone.
Coronary Heart Disease
Is
The Leading Cause Of Death and Disability
for Both Men & Women
More than 50 percent of
all adults in America have an increase risk of coronary heart disease
because of elevated cholesterol levels.
Medical professionals and
journals have noted that elevated plasma totals and low density lipoprotein
(LDL) cholesterol are major risk factors for coronary heart disease,
and the reduction of LDL cholesterol in high risk individuals leads
to lower incidence of fatal and nonfatal cardiac events. When referring
to the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) criteria, approximately
57 percent of adult Americans have borderline high or high total cholesterol
concentrations and are candidates for "lowering cholesterol"
programs.
Key factors that may
determine cholesterol levels
-
Intake factors:
The average American diet is about 35 to 40 percent fat (15 to
20 percent saturated). Less than 10 percent of your calories should
come from saturated fat.
-
Intrinsic factors:
Body metabolism has an effect on how rapidly cholesterol is removed
from your blood stream and how much new cholesterol your liver
manufactures. As you grow older, your total blood cholesterol
level will naturally tend to rise.
-
Absorption factors:
Absorption factors help to lower your blood cholesterol level
by blocking absorption of substances that the body uses to make
more cholesterol. Dietary fiber plays an important role in this
area.
My doctor has prescribed
Mevacor or Lopid
to Reduce Cholesterol.
Can I stop using this medication now?
Absolutely not. Consult
your physician before discontinuing the use of these medications.
Sometimes I forget
to take Beta-S.
Can I take it after a meal?
Will it work anyway?
If you forget to take Beta-S,
then you must take it and delay eating for thirty minutes. Beta-S
must arrive 30 minutes before your food intake. After the fact does
not work. If Beta-S is not taken at all, then you must accept the
fact that the dietary fat you take in for that meal will be absorbed.
Simply remember to take Beta-S before you eat your next meal. If a
meal is especially heavy and fat laden you may want to take two tablets.
Take Beta-S at least three times per day whether you miss a meal or
not, as Beta-S helps suppress the appetite.
Remember,
hit and miss dosages will render your program ineffective. Beta-S
is a lifetime commitment to controlling cholesterol levels. People
who use Beta-S, reach their ideal cholesterol level and then stop
will see their results go backwards.
Cholesterol Test
This is a fairly inexpensive
process. The Heart Association even sponsors them in shopping malls
for as little as $10.00. It is advised when using Beta-S as a cholesterol-controlling
agent, an individual have a test done right away. Noticeable
results can be expected in cholesterol counts when taking Beta-S in
4 to 8 weeks.
When do I consult my
physician?
Although Beta-S is non-absorbable
and there are no known side effects, if you are taking any form of
medication prescribed by your physician, or are under the care of
a physician, consult with him/her. For young children it is also recommended
to get approval by your physician.
"Herbal Product
Improves Cholesterol"
Article by Dr. Daniel Gardner
Good health is directly related to good eating habits. Most food choices
are made for taste and convenience, NOT for good health and nutrition.
These bad habits increase the risk of arteriosclerosis and coronary
heart disease from consuming dietary fats, which results in high cholesterol
levels. High levels of circulating cholesterol are a major factor
leading to clogged blood vessels and heart disease. Heart disease
is the number one killer in today's society. Specifically, low-density
lipoprotein, "LDL" cholesterol is considered bad because they carry
fats out of the liver to the blood vessels.
There are actually two
types of dietary problems, which lead to high cholesterol levels.
First foods, which are fried or are high in animal fats, will directly
raise levels of bad cholesterol. Second, diets high in sugar, bread,
pasta, sweets and other simple carbohydrates are converted into bad
cholesterol by the liver. This explains how some vegetarians have
high cholesterol.
The liver also makes cholesterol
for hormonal purposes as a response to stress. Lowering cholesterol
is possible by decreasing and managing stress. Therefore exercise
and stress management are an important part of a "lowering cholesterol"
plan.
There are two natural plant
extracts, Beta-Sitosterol from soy or rice and citrus pectin from
fruit which, when taken as a supplement, can improve cholesterol metabolism.
Beta-Sitosterol is healthy plant oil, found in soybeans and rice.
It can decrease the absorption of cholesterol in the digestive system
and decrease the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. Beta-Sitosterol
decreases absorption by locking to the fat molecules eaten and by
blocking the fat molecule absorption gates in the intestines. The
fats and cholesterol are then excreted rather than absorbed. A study
in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed a 42% decease
in cholesterol absorbed when taking beta-sitosterol before eating
scrambled eggs.
The liver actually manufactures
more cholesterol than is typically absorbed from food Beta-Sitosterol
acts on the liver enzymes in a way that inhibits cholesterol production.
An important enzyme for the manufacture of cholesterol in the liver
is broken down rapidly in the presence of Beta-Sitosterol. Cholesterol
is also better metabolized or broken down by the liver in the presence
of Beta-Sitosterol. The specific liver enzymes, which break down saturated
fats, are significantly more active. There are possibly even more
benefits to taking Beta-Sitosterol including aiding in weight loss,
protecting the lining of the digestive tract and decreasing the risk
of gallstones.
Citrus pectin is a plant
fiber found in the white part of the rind of citrus fruits. Citrus
pectin has both cholesterol lowering properties and directly inhibits
cholesterol from forming sticky plaque, clogging the walls of blood
vessels. Like Beta-Sitosterol, it has the effects of decreasing cholesterol
absorption and decreasing enzymatic cholesterol production in the
liver. The fact that citrus pectin also works at reducing plaque out
in the blood vessels is an added bonus. A study published in the Journal
of Clinical Cardiology showed citrus pectin supplementation significantly
decreased blood cholesterol levels without altering patients diet
or lifestyle. Even greater results may be expected with proper diet
and lifestyle changes.
Beta-sitosterol and pectin
should be consumed in equal divided doses, 30 minutes prior to all
meals. The plant substances can then disperse throughout the digestive
system during those 30 minutes to maximize its effectiveness on blocking
cholesterol absorption. Taken regularly before meals containing cholesterol
rich foods, can result in a significant decrease in cholesterol absorption
and improved processing of cholesterol by the liver.
Commonly prescribed drugs,
which lower Cholesterol, are expensive and have many undesirable side
effects. These drugs are very burdensome to the liver and kidneys.
In contrast, these safe and natural plant based cholesterol fighters
are actually beneficial to the liver.
In summary, supplementation
with the combination Beta-Sitosterol and citrus pectin can be a safe
and effective part of a healthy plan to naturally lower serum cholesterol
levels.
American knows about the
harmful effects and damage to our vital organs that occur from ingestion
of excess dietary fat and cholesterol.
Daily Recommended Dosage
of Beta-S
The daily recommended dosage
for BetaS is one or two tablet(s) 30 minutes before a meal or snack
with a full eight ounces glass of water, depending on how fat laden
your meal will be. Beta-S needs time to dissolve in your stomach before
you can consume any foods. Beta-S should be taken at least three times
per day, whether you skip meals or not. If a meal is especially heavy
and fat laden you may want to take two tablets. Beta-S becomes most
effective 30 minutes after consumption and remains at its peak for
90 minutes. Beta-S will have only a marginal effect on dietary fat
and cholesterol, if not allowed a full 30 minutes to disperse in the
stomach and pass into the intestine. This means that your meal should
be consumed only after waiting 30 minutes from the time you take Beta-S,
but remember Beta-S's peak effectiveness will begin to diminish after
90 minutes. If it has been longer than 90 minutes since taking Beta-S
and you desire another meal or snack, take another tablet; remembering
it takes 30 minutes for Beta-S to reach peak performance.
Beta-S is Safe to Use
Anyone with health problems
should consult their physician before making any changes in their
diet and/or exercise. Because Beta-S is all naturally occurring ingredients
and it is not absorbed into the blood stream, side effects have not
been reported.
