"CAL-MAG FIZZ"
We know it is easier to
take a pill or capsule but please read the information below before
you leave this site - even if you do not buy our product, we want
you to know the undeniable benefits of a predissolved clear liquid
calcium over pills or capsules.
Calcium Powder Fizz
Very, Very
Important Information:
Cal-Mag Fizz is
different because it is a perfect, pre-dissolved, clear liquid
solution, which is the most bio-available way for your body
to utilize the Calcium and Magnesium.
It took our chemists
over a year and 900 samples to get our Fizz formula to dissolve
clear. We use four different types of Calcium. The reason
we use this blend of Calciums is to achieve that perfect clear
absorbable solution. Each calcium has a different pH. It is our
belief that it does not matter which form of calcium you are taking
or which form is most absorbable. The
fact is that you need the calcium predissolved, ionized and elemental
to be absorbed. Our Cal-Mag Fizz is all of these once it has "FIZZED"
and is a clear liquid.
In other liquid Calcium supplements you will notice they have
a chalky taste or grit in the liquid. This is Calcium. This is
not predissolved calcium. Your body has to break down this mineral
or dissolve it before it can be absorbed. The time that it takes
the body to dissolve the calcium will slow your absorption rate
and prevent you from absorbing 100% of the Calcium, like you will
with Cal-Mag FIZZ. Tablets and capsules are even worse because
your body first has to break down the tablet or capsule and then
dissolve the calcium. |

Testimony
What
a wonderful product you have! The Cal-Mag Fizz dissolves so quickly
and completely. I grew tired of having to constantly stir the Cal-Absorb
that I was taking because the citrate form wouldn't totally go into
solution. I also appreciate the taste of the Cal-Mag Fizz. I'm currently
using the wild berry flavor; and its sooooo good that I have to make
sure I don't blindly reach into my kitchen cabinet and dump it into
the 8 glasses of water I try to consume everyday. Lastly, I know your
product is superior because one glass gives me such an enthusiastic
bowel movement, whereas the other product would take 2-3 glasses.
I mention this because I've had problems with constipation my whole
life. Thanks again for your efforts at making a quality product. Kind
regards,

Why Cal-Mag Fizz?
Baywood's unique effervescent
blend of Cal-Mag Fizz provides maximum Calcium absorption of
all its ingredients. Cal-Mag Fizz contains its nutrients in a more
highly bioavailable form which is gentler to the stomach, and often
more suitable than solid
supplements, especially for children and the elderly. Our special
blend of 4 different forms of ionized Calcium Supplement
in our exclusive effervescent formula is the most absorbable & bioavailable
form of calcium available today. This means stronger bones and a much
healthier lifestyle for both young and old alike.
How does Baywood's
Cal-Mag FIZZ
differ from other Calcium Supplements?
Cal-Mag FIZZ is different
because it is a perfect, pre-dissolved, clear liquid solution, which
is the most bio-available way for your body to utilize the Calcium
and Magnesium. Cal-Mag FIZZ uses an effervescent delivery to dissolve
the calcium and magnesium so the body will not have to work to accomplish
this task before absorbing the calcium and magnesium.
Why would you want
to take a clear
liquid Calcium supplement, such as our Fizz,
over tablets or capsules or even other liquids?
In other liquid Calcium
supplements you will notice they have a chalky or grit in the
liquid. This is Calcium. This is not predissolved calcium. Your body
has to break down this mineral or dissolve it before it can be absorbed.
The time that it takes the body to dissolve the calcium will slow
your absorption rate and prevent you from absorbing 100% of the Calcium,
like you will with Cal-Mag FIZZ. Tablets and capsules are even worse
because your body first has to break down the tablet or capsule and
then dissolve the calcium.
What forms of Calcium
do you use in Cal-Mag FIZZ?
We use four different
types of Calcium. Calcium Carbonate Hydroxide, Calcium Citrate, Calcium
Glycerophospate and Calcium Lactate. The reason we use this blend
of Calciums is to achieve that perfect clear absorbable solution.
Each calcium has a different pH. It took our chemist over a year and
900 samples to get the formula to dissolve clear. It is our belief
that it does not matter which form of calcium you are taking or which
form is most absorbable. The fact
is that you need the calcium predissolved, ionized and elemental to
be absorbed. Our Cal-Mag FIZZ is all of these once it has "FIZZED"
and is a clear liquid.
How much Calcium
and Magnesium
is a person getting when using Cal-Mag FIZZ?
Each serving contains
500mg of calcium and 200mg of magnesium. We recommend two servings
per day to give you 1000mg of calcium, the recommended daily amount.
But, if a person is eating foods rich in calcium already they may
want only to take one serving per day as an insurance that they are
getting the adequate amounts of calcium.
What other ingredients
do you include in your formula?
Cal-Mag FIZZ is more than
just a calcium supplement. We include your B vitamins to aid in stress
control and also Vitamin D, which is also important for good
bone health. Cal-Mag FIZZ also includes a mineral blend to help
with absorption of calcium and magnesium.
How does Cal-Mag
FIZZ taste?
All three flavors are pleasant tasting.
Tropical Fruit is the original flavor. Some consumers wanted a little
sweeter tasting supplement so the Mixed Berry flavor was developed
for those with a sweet tooth. Some consumers wanted a less sweet supplement
so the Lemon Lime was developed which is more of a tart tasting drink.
What do you use
to flavor and sweeten Cal-Mag FIZZ?
We use Stevia as a sweetener.
Our Cal-Mag FIZZ is flavored with natural fruit as fructose. For instance
the Tropical Fruit uses Kiwi and Strawberry to give the product its
pleasant taste.
Are there any artificial
colors in Cal-Mag FIZZ?
There are no added colors
to Cal-Mag FIZZ. The colors you see after the product effervesces
are naturally occurring from the fruits that the product is flavored
with.
How does a person
take the product?
It's very easy to take
this product. You will need a glass and some water. First put one
scoop of Cal-Mag FIZZ into a glass, then add eight ounces of water
and watch it FIZZ. The nice thing about Cal-Mag FIZZ is that you do
not have to boil the water to get the calcium to dissolve like other
products that you may see on late night television infomercials. Cal-Mag
FIZZ can be taken with ice cold water or warm water for those that
might prefer a warm beverage. It will FIZZ either way. You may increase
or decrease the amount of water depending upon taste, but it is important
that you let the product FIZZ completely until it turns clear which
takes under a minute. Although if you have a hangover you may also
use this product as you would alka-seltzer and drink it while it is
FIZZing.

Cal-Mag FIZZ -
Q & A
What is meant by
"Elemental"?
Elemental refers to the
actual amount of a substance when it is separated from the carrier
compound. For example, calcium carbonate is calcium attached to the
carrier salt compound, carbonate. So when the calcium is isolated
from the compound of calcium carbonate, a certain amount
will be "elemental calcium". Calcium
carbonate yields roughly 40% elemental calcium - which is the highest
yield of any calcium compound.
How do you know
how much is elemental from reading a label?
Cal-Mag FIZZ label reads:
Calcium (from calcium lactate, calcium citrate, calcium carbonate
hydroxide, calcium gylcerophosphate) 500mg. This means the daily dose
is 1000mg of elemental calcium because of the way the
parenthesis is used. More on this below...
There is much confusion for the consumer when making
sense of a label. To illustrate this, below is a comparison of two
labels:
1.
Calcium (Carbonate)....1000 mg
2. Calcium Carbonate.....1000 mg
#1 means
that it contains 1000 mg of elemental calcium, derived from calcium
carbonate, because the carbonate is in parenthesis.
#2 means
it contains 400 mg elemental calcium because no parenthesis is used,
and so calcium carbonate contains 40% elemental calcium. 400mg is
40% of 1000mg.
What does "Bioavailable"
mean?
Bioavailable refers to
the proportion of a substance that can be made available by the body,
for use and storage in the body. The body, in its infinite wisdom,
determines the actual amount it will use depending on ever changing
physiological needs.
What does "Ionize"
mean?
Ion:
an atom or radical having a charge of positive (cation) or negative
(anion) electricity owing to a loss or gain of one or more electrons.
Ionize: to separate into ions.
When water is added to
Cal-Mag FIZZ powder, an ionization reaction removes a protein from
the calcium molecule and gives it a positive charge. Because calcium
receptors in the body are negatively charged, magnetism is created
which draws the calcium into the receptors for absorption.
Ionization must take place prior to absorption.
What about the alkalizing
effects of Calcium?
All calcium is alkalizing, not just coral calcium.
Magnesium, potassium and sodium are also alkalizing minerals the body
can use. Minerals are actually only one of several mechanisms the
body has to balance acid-alkaline. The lungs, kidneys and components
of blood all work diligently to maintain proper pH balance, responding
to changes and adjusting accordingly. The blood pH is maintained at
a very narrow range of 7.35-7.45 and the body has elaborate buffering
mechanisms in place to ensure it stays in this range. Anything outside
of 6.8-8 is incompatible with life.
Infection, disease,
smoking, red meats and alcohol consumption are all thought to produce
more acidic conditions in the body, forcing it to work harder to balance.
Fresh vegetables and fruits are considered more alkalizing. In theory,
certain pathological conditions are more likely to occur when the
body is in a more acidic state, and some healthcare practitioners
will therefore recommend eating a predominantly alkaline diet to aid
in that balance.
Supplementing
with alkalizing minerals can provide an available "pool"
for the body to use in this balance. This
can help reduce the workload on other buffer systems (the kidney,
lungs and chemicals in blood). Another such buffer system the body
has available involves pulling calcium from bone to alkalize, or phosphorus
from bone to acidify, depending on what may be required. Supplementing
with alkalizing minerals is especially helpful in the elderly whose
buffer systems may not be functioning optimally with age.
Coral Calcium "Claims"
What's so special
about calcium from coral?
Coral calcium
is calcium carbonate. It yields 40% elemental calcium and depending
on how it is listed on the label (see section on comparison of two
labels) it may or may not equal the milligrams listed in elemental
calcium. Calcium carbonate can also be derived from limestone, (as
in our formula) which interestingly, contains coral and other seashells
from millions of years ago, which go into the formation of limestone.
So limestone can come from "fossilized" coral. Outrageous
claims are being made about coral calcium that cannot be substantiated
and so we have chosen not to jump on this bandwagon. Consumers are
urged to research coral calcium thoroughly.
"Coral calcium
has 80-90% absorption rate?"
Your body will only use
what it needs, bottom line. It's very difficult to come up with an
exact number due to the fact that this rate will change depending
on the body's particular needs at any one time.
There's a difference between
claiming "absorbable" and claiming an actual rate or percentage of
what will be absorbed. There are steps that
can be taken to make calcium more absorbable (which have done painstakingly
on our Cal-Mag Fizz with the help of biochemists) but it is still
up to each individual's body chemistry and ever changing biochemical
needs that will ultimately determine how much it will use at any one
time.
How does Cal-Mag
FIZZ compare with Coral Calcium?
Cal-Mag Fizz contains
500mg elemental calcium per scoop. Many of the coral calciums do not
contain this much elemental calcium. Check the labels.
Calcium
carbonate is not always easily absorbed, especially when in solid
forms, so this is where our formula distinguishes itself with dissolving
well in water, ionizing and being set at a pH to optimize absorbability.
Many of the coral calcium powders do not dissolve well in water. In
solid form, absorbability in calcium carbonate goes way down.
Many of
the coral calciums do not have Vitamin D, Magnesium, B-Vitamins or
other essential minerals for bone health, and which also aid in calcium
absorption as does Cal-Mag Fizz.
"74 Trace Minerals"
are supposedly in the coral, which marketing literature says aid with
absorption and cure just about every disease imaginable. There is
nothing in medical literature to substantiate these claims. There
is the compelling argument that it has not been established by medical
research yet that the body even needs all 74 minerals. More research
needs to be done on this topic for a definitive answer. We have used
the trace minerals that have been found to be most important for bone
health in Cal-Mag Fizz.
